Shon Williams is an executive producer, host, and founder of The Safe Room podcast. He started his show in May 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, to little fanfare. The show originally focused on open-ended discussions of pop culture, education, business, and community work. Two years later, the show went through a transformative shift, now prioritizing the stories of overlooked business owners in Toronto. 

 

For six years, The Safe Room has become one of the most prominent podcasts in Toronto and currently airs on the #1 African-Caribbean online radio station in Canada. Shon’s mission is to cultivate a community of Black professionals built on motion and support. Accumulating over 3,000 total downloads and 200 episodes, plus multiple contributions to local and nonprofit organizations, Shon has dedicated his craft to establishing the future leaders in the Canadian podcasting industry.
